District Committee - 7:00pm, 1st Thursday each month at Clemson REC, main office.
District Committee leadership includes the district chairman, one or more vice chairmen, and chairmen for the membership committee, finance committee, and program function. The program function includes tasks to be performed related to training, advancement/recognition, camping/outdoors, and activities/civic service. The district chairman also appoints special ad hoc committiees. The district commissioner provides communications with the commissioner staff and the condition of all Scout units.
A Scouting district is a geographical area of the local BSA council, determined by the council executive board. District leaders mobilize resources to ensure the growth and success of units within the districts territory. All districts are responsible for carrying out four standard functions: membership, finance, program, and unit service.
The district committee is comprised of volunteers seeking to promote the ideals of Scouting in a broader role. If interested please contact the District Chairman. |
|
District Commissioner's Meeting - 6:30pm, 1st Thursday of each month at Clemson REC, main office.
The Commissioner Concept: As liason between the local council and Scouting units, the commissioner's mission is to keep assigned units operating at maximum efficiency. The commissioner maintains regular contact with the leaders of the units, counsels them on where to find assistance, notes any weaknesses in programs, and suggests remedies. The commissioner is successful when the units effectively deliver the ideals of Scouting to their members.
Commissioners are comprised of volunteers seeking to promote the ideals of Scouting, and must have a zeal about watching young people achieve. If interested please contact the District Commissioner. |
|
Roundtable - 7:00pm, 2nd Thursday of each month at Pontiac Elementary. (We do not currently meet in July, and the location is subject to change. To be added to the email reminder please contact the District Commissioner.)
Roundtables are designed to give every volunteer an opportunity to learn, teach, and interact with other volunteers. Each month we will adrress a different aspect in your related program, and will provide plenty of time for specific questions. New to Scouting? Come and hear what experienced Scouters have to say. Experienced Scouter? Come and share your knowledge with others who share your excitement. |
