Family Camping Weekend
Real Fun…at Camp Barstow!
Check-in: TBA for 2011, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Check-out: TBA for 2011, by 11 a.m.
Camp set-up: Packs and campers may begin setting up their tents and preparing their campsite at 5 p.m. on TBA for 2011. No vehicles will be allowed into camp beyond the parking lot. If several groups arrive at the same time, back-ups and delay will occur in the process of transporting equipment.
What: This Camp-out is not only designed for Cub and Webelos Scouts, but also for the entire family. Moms, dads, grandparents, sisters, and brothers are welcome to participate in all of the programs and spend quality time together. Come as a family activity or with your pack. This is surely going to be a fun, exciting, and adventurous weekend. Catch some of these exciting activities: archery, BB guns, letherball, scavenger hunt, campfire program, fishing (bring your own equipment), hiking and many more surprises! Or, you can just relax and enjoy our beautiful camping facility.
Registration will be accepted until camp is full. Meals in the Dining Hall are limited to only 600 people!
FAQ’s about Camp Barstow
What should I bring? You will need a tent, sleeping bag or blanket, extra clothing & shoes, toiletries, raincoat or poncho, flashlight, & scout spirit.
How do I get my gear to the campsite? At registration there will be trailers to off load your gear onto. These trailers will move your gear to the campsite.
Are there restrooms at the campsite? Yes.
Are there showers available? Yes, showers are located near the Dining Hall. Adults and scouts have separate areas.
Can I bring my cat, dog, or other pet? Sorry, pets are prohibited in camps.
Can we fish while at camp? Yes, you must bring your own equipment and follow all state laws. Fishing is not permitted in the fenced-in areas of camp.
Will I need to bring food and cooking equipment? Optional Meal Plan will consist of 4 meals starting on Saturday morning and including all meals through Sunday morning. Any other meals and/ or snacks are on your own. The Camp Trading Post will be open to purchase some such items.
