Indian Waters Council - Boy Scouts of America - Columbia, South Carolina
National Jamboree
In July of 2010, the largest gathering of Boy Scouts in America will begin at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. Held usually every four years, the NATIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREE is like a huge Camporee with approximately 35,000 Scouts and Leaders in 800 full troops, plus 5,000 support staff and activity area personnel.

Visualize the approximately 7th largest city in Virginia springing up overnight in the fields of Fort A.P. Hill, where there are classes for at least 60 to 70 Merit Badges, displays from all the branches of the military, government agencies, and corporate sponsors, patch trading 16 hours every day, as well as two giant arena shows with entertainers and audiences of 50,000 people. There will also be available three of the largest Scout Trading Posts you will ever see and three Action Centers running simultaneously to provide new and exciting opportunities.

Don’t be left behind when the fun begins! The Indian Waters Council is now taking applications for the 2010 NATIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREE Council Contingent of approximately four troops (144 Scouts), and plans are being made for this to be a once in a lifetime opportunity with the celebration of the BSA’s 100th Anniversary. The total participation price will be determined after the National fee is announced in the near future.
